Recurring revenue for your WooCommerce store — without the complexity

Easy Subscription turns any simple or variable WooCommerce product into a subscription. Your customer pays once at checkout, the card is saved securely in Stripe, and every renewal is charged automatically in the background. Coffee boxes, software plans, memberships, courses, maintenance packages: choose the period and the price, and the plugin does the rest.

We use it ourselves: the licences you buy in this shop are renewed by Easy Subscription.

How it works

  1. Tick “Subscription” on a product and choose the billing period — for example €19 every month, or €199 every year with a 14-day free trial.
  2. Your customer checks out as usual. The cart shows the recurring total and the first renewal date; the card is saved in Stripe.
  3. Renewals run by themselves. A reminder goes out before each payment, the card is charged on the due date, and failed payments are retried automatically.

Subscription products

  • Billing every 1–6 days, weeks, months or years — per product or per variation
  • Free trials, one-off sign-up fees and an optional different renewal price
  • Fixed length (for example 6 months) or until cancelled

Renewals that recover failed payments

  • Cards saved with the official WooCommerce Stripe Gateway and charged off-session on the renewal date
  • Reminder email before every renewal
  • Failed payments retried automatically (after 1, 3 and 5 days by default), with a pay link for the customer
  • 3-D Secure handled: when the bank asks for confirmation, the customer confirms through a secure link
  • On hold after the last retry, cancelled after a grace period you choose
  • Any other payment method works too — the customer receives a pay link for each renewal

The plugin automatically follows the language of your WordPress — the site language in Settings → General, or each user’s own profile language — for the admin screens, the customer area and the emails. For any other language it shows English, and every text can be translated.

Good to know

  • Automatic card renewals need the free WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin and a Stripe account.
  • Version 1.0 does not yet import subscriptions from other plugins, switch plans or apply coupons to renewals.

Easy Subscription is released under the GPL, like WordPress. Your licence gives you one-click updates and support for the number of stores in your plan. It renews every year at the same price — you can turn automatic renewal off at any time in My Account. See our Licence Terms.

Frequently asked questions

Which payment gateways does it work with?

Automatic renewals charge the customer’s saved card through the official WooCommerce Stripe Gateway. With any other gateway — bank transfer, PayPal and others — renewals are manual: the customer gets an email with a secure pay link before each renewal.

What happens when a renewal payment fails?

The customer gets an email with a pay link and the charge is retried automatically (by default after 1, 3 and 5 days). After the last retry the subscription goes on hold, and it is cancelled after the grace period you set. If the bank asks for 3-D Secure, the customer confirms the payment through the link.

Can customers cancel or switch off automatic renewal themselves?

Yes. In My Account → Subscriptions they can renew early, turn automatic renewal on or off, change the card and cancel at the end of the paid period. You decide per product whether customers may cancel.

Does it work with the block checkout and HPOS?

Yes. It supports the block-based Cart and Checkout, the classic checkout and WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

Is it GPL? What does the licence include?

The plugin is licensed under the GPL, like WordPress itself. Your licence key gives you one-click updates for a year, support and access to new versions; it is activated on the number of sites of your plan. Without an active licence the plugin keeps working, but you no longer receive updates.

Can I migrate from WooCommerce Subscriptions?

Not automatically in version 1.0 — there is no import tool yet. Existing subscriptions have to be recreated. Write to us before you buy if you plan a migration.

What languages is it available in?

English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Romanian. The plugin automatically follows your WordPress language — the site language or each user’s profile language — for the admin, the customer area and the emails; any other language falls back to English.

How does my licence renew?

Every year at the price you paid, through Easy Subscription itself. You get a reminder before the renewal, and you can turn automatic renewal off or cancel at any time in My Account → Subscriptions. Without renewal the plugin keeps working; you just stop receiving updates and support.
